Clyde Traughber

Clyde David “Buster” Traughber, 86, of Jerome passed away May 22, 2018, due to health complications.

Clyde was born May 15, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Clyde Ashmore Traughber and Gladys Valentine (Hungerford) Traughber. He was the oldest of three siblings: DeWayne Traughber and Juanita (Traughber) Thomas.

Clyde was raised in Swan Valley and attended school there until the 8 th grade. He attended high school in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and graduated in 1950.

He married Wanda Schmier on January 21, 1951. Together, they had nine children. Clyde farmed and ranched with his dad in Roberts, Salmon, and Dillon, Montana, before moving to Jerome, Idaho in 1972, where he operated a dairy and farmed.

Clyde and Wanda divorced. Years later, he married Kittie Norris and they moved to Burley where they purchased the Bel-Aire Trailer Park and ran it for several years. Clyde and Kittie divorced and he later married Sharon Higbee. They moved to Jerome in 2013.

Clyde loved sports and enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. He also loved appaloosa horses, watching rodeos, fishing, playing the slot machines, and ice cream! His biggest enjoyment was teasing his grandchildren. Clyde enjoyed being around people and was well liked by everyone who came in contact with him.

He is survived by his brother, DeWayne Traughber; sister, Juanita Thomas; seven sons: Clyde “Greg” (Becky) Traughber of Jerome; Dave (Kellee) Traughber of Jerome; Mike (Theresa) Traughber of Jerome; Jake (Jennifer) Traughber of Jerome; Paul Traughber of Twin Falls; Jeff Traughber of Hansen; and Rick (Shari) Traughber of Jerome; two daughters: Tammy (Jerry) Meine of Dillon, Montana; and Chris (Kenny) Allison of Gooding; their mother, Wanda Traughber of Twin Falls; 25 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson; and former wives, Kittie Traughber and Sharon Traughber.

Special thanks to the staff at Brookdale, staff at Genesis Care Center of Twin Falls, nurses at St. Luke’s, nurses and staff at Serenity, and nurses at Horizon Home, Health and Hospice for their excellent support and care.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jerome with Rev. Mike Haddock officiating. Burial will follow at the Jerome Cemetery, Jerome.
