Braulio Antonio Martinez

January 15, 1954 — July 31, 2023

WENDELL

Braulio Antonio “Tony” Martinez, 69, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023, at his home in Wendell, after a short battle with cancer. Tony was born January 15, 1954, in Denver, Colorado to Jose Martinez and Elvera Pacheco Martinez. He was the oldest of six kids.

Tony grew up in the Magic Valley attending Filer and Kimberly Schools. He made many lifelong friends in the small towns where he lived.

In October 1973 Tony’s first daughter Heather was born. Tony married Linda Young in February 1974. In December 1974 their daughter Danielle was born and in June 1977 Jennifer came along. Tony and Linda later divorced and he met and married Diane Palmer in 1983.

Tony and Diane spent their years camping, fishing, and playing Wii Golf. On their days off they were in the mountains or at the closest fishing spot pitching a tent. When they were playing Wii golf there wasn’t much conversation happening because they were focused on the game. Tony enjoyed playing pool and played in pool leagues for many years. He loved a good bet and enjoyed beating his friends and family at pool. He met some of his best friends while drinking Budweiser, playing pool, and bullshitting at the Northside and Silver Spur. Tony had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh and smile. If you knew him, you loved him! Tony loved his girls but his fur babies were the spoiled ones. He had many dogs and cats throughout his life and cherished them all. When Tony was diagnosed his only worry was making sure his boys were taken care of.

Tony is survived by Tupoc and Bently (fur boys); daughters, Heather Moss (Jamie) Braggs of Oklahoma and Jennifer Egbert of Twin Falls; grandkids, Brittany, Rowdy, Sawyer, Jake, Kyleigh, Mason, Riley, Aydan, and Dillon; four great grandkids, Cali Jo, Blakely, Kingston, and Hendryx; siblings, Jim Sedillo, Darlene (Dave) Robinson, Bev Bartlett, Delbert Martinez, and Sharon (Ron) Hart.

He was greeted on the other side by his wife, Diane; daughter, Danielle James; and parents, Jose and Elvera.

A memorial potluck for Tony will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the home of Dar and Dave Robinson, 503 West Ave C, Jerome, Idaho.
