Beverly Koonce

Beverly Jean Koonce, 83, of Jerome and previously of Shoshone and Fairfield, joined her Savior Jesus Christ in heaven on March 13, 2017. She was born in Fairfield , Idaho to Donald and Estelle Vaught on September 24, 1933, joining her twin sisters Marjorie Anne and Noma Lee. Mom was raised in Fairfield, Idaho, where she attended Camas County Schools. Beverly married Jack Koonce on December 27, 1951. To this union three children were welcomed, Debi, Wendy and Bart.

Mom made her home in Shoshone for many years of her life. She later divorced and remained single to the end. During her married life, she stayed home and made her children her priority. In her 40's she returned to work outside of the home. Over the years Mom had many different jobs from manufacturing, healthcare, county and city government, to home cleaning and caring for elderly clients. She was well respected and appreciated where ever she worked especially by her elderly friends. Mom found a new home in Jerome in 2004 and made very special friendships while there.

Beverly is survived by her children, Debi and Buz Vanskike of Jerome; Wendy and Jim Egersdorf of Shoshone; and Bart and Ginger Koonce of Shoshone; six grandchildren, Kirk, Chad, Nichole (Josh), Brandon, Megan, and Joe; three great grandchildren, Austin, Braden, and Ryker; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Vaught and Estelle (Harry) Durall; sister, Marjorie Anne Ashmead, sister Noma Lee and brother-in-law John Gaenzle.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Luke's of Jerome for all you did for Mom during her last days. You treated her with dignity and very special care.

There will be a private family burial on a later date at the Mountain View Cemetery in Fairfield, Idaho.
