Arthur "Jim" Silva

Arthur James “Jim” Silva passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021.  He was born in Wendell, Idaho on May 31, 1945 to Floyd and Dorothy (Swope) Silva.

Jim attended elementary and high school in Shoshone, Idaho.  He was in the Air Force for four years, stationed at Kinchloe Air Force Base, in Michigan.  He spent almost the entirety of his life in Shoshone, Idaho where he was a farmer, did custom chopping for Four Brothers Dairy, and was a ‘jack of all trades’.  He was extremely involved in supporting Shoshone school athletics, as well as being very involved in community events in Shoshone.  Jim also loved to fish and in younger years was also an avid hunter.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judy Silva of Jerome, Idaho; his children, Parry (Penny) Silva, Cindy Ebberts, Jessica (Vic) Weber, Dan (Jamie) Silva, and Cierra Hennings, who lovingly referred to Jim as “Papa”; three siblings, Judy Marlow, Marilyn Padgett and Fred (Terry) Silva; several grandchildren,  great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Millie and Jemma.  A third dog, Dottie, is being cremated and buried with Jim. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dorothy Silva.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Shoshone Community Center, 201 South Beverly Street, Shoshone, Idaho. His remains will be interred at the Shoshone Cemetery.
