Ardath Morgan

Ardath Petree Morgan was born Sept. 6, 1928 in Compton, Arkansas to Riley and Dovie Petree. The Petree family of 5 girls moved to Jerome, Idaho in the 40’s where Ardath attended and graduated from Jerome High School with top honors.

Ardath was hired at Mt. States Telephone, and retired in 1958. She met her life love, Howard Morgan, and was married Sept. 3, 1950. They were blessed with three boys, Robert (Sandy); Randy; and Rod (Cinda); three grandchildren, Brooke (Brett Thompson); Craig; and Chris (Kadie); and four great-grandchildren, Faith and Ryan Morgan, and Emerson and Tyler Thompson.

Ardath was an active member of the Church of Christ, and believed to be saved you must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, repent, confess and be baptized. She loved golfing, gardening, cooking. Her family thought she was quite good at the game of golf; as she received the honor of club championship 13 years in a row! Eating Mom’s cooking was no less than a 5-course meal, and you weren’t allowed to get up from the table until you couldn’t get up; no problem there as we all loved her southern cooking.

Her grandkids were a very special part of her life, and she loved to spoil them. Shortly after grandchildren were born, Howard’s work building golf courses took them to ideal locations to visit. The grandkids took annual visits to San Diego and Hawaii where everlasting memories with grandma were made.

Ardath passed in her sleep on April 30, 2017 after an extended battle with Alzheimer's. We express our loving gratitude for her caregivers at Heritage Home and Hospice, her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her son Bob, her mother and dad, and her four sisters, Belva, Lorene, Rachel, Nellie.

A Celebration of Ardath’s Life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 5, 2017 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome, with Rev. Clyde officiating. A graveside service will conclude at Jerome Cemetery.
