Twin Falls - was born in Deming, New Mexico on January 24, 1934. Her earliest years were spent on a sheep ranch in Coleman County, Texas. She was raised in Springfield, Oregon where she adopted her nickname Sue, and in Payette, Idaho where she graduated from High School in 1952. Sue met Tom Brazie during one of his breaks from classes at the University of Idaho and married him in the summer of 1952.
Sue received her PHT (Putting Hubby Through) Degree from the University of Idaho and graduated with Tom in 1955. She accompanied him for 38 years on his work assignments in the U.S. and Overseas and provided a home for the family wherever they lived.
Sue traveled extensively and lived in many places in the world. Southern and Northern Idaho; Northern Virginia and Long Island, New York; Freeport, the Bahamas; Bangkok, Thailand; Jeddah and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Karachi and Hyderabad, Pakistan; Manama, Bahrain; Bandar Abbas, Iran; Tokyo, London, and The Hague and Bandung, Indonesia, Tom’s last job before retirement in 1993.
Sue celebrated her 50 th Wedding Anniversary in her 50 th home, her favorite, which they purchased in Twin Falls in 2002.
Sue was also a talented artist and her home contained an extensive collection of her drawings and portraits of people she’d observed in her travels, and paintings and drawings of her favorite places in southern Idaho.
During her retirement years, Sue was active in volunteer work for her church in Shoshone and for the Monastery of the Ascension in Jerome.
Sue died in her home on July 7, 2015, of complications from Lung Cancer which had spread throughout her body before detection. Sue’s ashes will be interred at the Monastery of the Ascension in Jerome.
Sue is survived by her Husband Tom, her Children, Larry of Tucson, Arizona and Mark of Los Angeles, California, her Brother Fred Kelso of Coburg, Oregon and her Sister Zona Van Valkenberg of Payette, Idaho.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. , Friday, October 2, 2015 , at the Monastery Of The Ascension, 541 East 100 South Jerome, Idaho. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome, Idaho.
