Jerome- Albin M. "Al", Demczyk, 94, of Jerome, passed away January 23, 2015, in Twin Falls.  He was born November 23, 1920, in Lackawanna, New York, the oldest son of three children born to Adam Demczyk from Poland and Rose Demczyk from the Ukraine.  He had two sisters, Josephine and Elanore.

He was raised in Manhattan where he attended school and worked odd jobs here and there.  He served his country in the United States Army during WWII, as a Sergeant, in Europe and Japan.  Al was a proud WWII veteran.

After the war, he met Rafaela "Fay" Auletta, and they were married five years later.  They had three children.  Fay passed away in 1967.  Al re-married Jean five years later and they settled in Jerome in 1991.  She passed away in 2002.

Al became active at the Jerome Senior Citizen Center and was there almost every day.  In 2007, he met Marge Jones and became close friends with her and her beautiful family.

Al is survived by his children, Jacqueline, of Florida, Steven, who works for the Federal Government in Washington, D.C., and lives in northern Virginia, and Diane who lives and works as a legal secretary in New York City.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated today, Thursday, January 29, 2015 , at 11:00 AM , at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 216 2nd Avenue East, Jerome, with Fr. Rob Irwin presiding.  Al will be laid to rest with his wife, Fay, in the Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.  Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
